Nigel Emery opened his first gallery in 1996 on Brighton seafront.

After the fishermen vacated the old Victorian arches, used for storing lobster pots and fishing nets, Nigel moved in and started creating his quirky collages which were an instant success; his paintings and prints have become ever more popular and widely collected.

In 2008 he opened his second gallery in Storrington, West Sussex.

Nifty Gallery became the perfect working environment, nestling in the heart of the South Downs and allowing him to experiment further with the diversity of his ideas.

A sense of humour and zest for life has seen him create bold and enthusiastic paintings and prints that reflect his passion for the English landscape. From brightly coloured abstract paintings to drifting sand dunes and sailing boats, his artwork has remained unique for their colour and vibrancy.

Another theme visited regularly are his spiral fish paintings, which he has been creating for circa 15 years. Clients and customers really connect to this watery world as the paintings are very restful, pearlescent and slightly sculptural – ever-changing as you walk around them.

Nigel says: “It’s important to remember the purpose of a painting. It is to enhance living space. It’s what people are looking for; something that they can enjoy every day in their homes.”

Nigel has completed many large commissions for international companies, hotels and private collectors. If you would like to commission a painting for your business or home please feel free to contact us.
